Will Oldham — the mastermind behind the indie-rock band Palace Brothers and various other projects — returns with a new CD under his latest alias, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, next month. Leading up to The Letting Go's release, Oldham performs at a number of independent record stores across the country, with a local stop tonight. The album is a typically lo-fi take on mountain music — rustic, natural-sounding, and just a little isolated. Oldham is at his best when he plays the rural academic, a role in which he excels on Letting Go.
