The Moxies/Goodnight Tonight/Essential Groove/Bad Wolfe

When: Sat., June 11, 7 p.m. 2016

Cleveland’s own, The Moxies are a three-piece rock band specializing in gritty, raw, classic rock ‘n’ roll. Their 2013 self-titled debut album not only garnered them a massive loyal following in Cleveland but also landed them in Nashville where they’re currently finishing up work on their second album which has been touched by tenured pros like Jared Champion, former drummer for Cage the Elephant. Although the album hasn’t been formally released yet, The Moxies have performed several songs off the album at their most recent shows. These songs, in addition to the classics from their first album, are unlike anything you’ll ever see. Marco Ciofani, the lead vocalist and guitarist, rips into his guitar, shreds the chords and beautifully screeches the lyrics out into the crowd. With Ciofani working the crowd up with his own dance moves and electric performance, bassist Tyler Adams equally matches Ciofani’s ferocity on stage. The two dance around, galvanizing the crowd until they can’t feel their feet anymore. To witness the trio rip the stage apart and literally rip the strings off their instruments is an experience unlike anything out there today. You won’t want to miss their fan appreciation show at The Agora especially since it’s free; so if you’re not a fan of theirs already, you will be by the end of the night. (Immerman)
