The Tubes

When: Sat., Oct. 27, 8:30 p.m. 2012

When Fee Waybill and his backing band of musical misfits known as the Tubes first emerged in the late ’70s, it wasn’t clear where they fit in the musical spectrum. Equal parts punk and New Wave, the band delivered theatrical performances that suggested they might be properly described as glam. But by the early ’80s, they had settled for more straightforward, radio-friendly approach and even had a top 40 hit with the catchy “She’s a Beauty,” which they’ll likely play at tonight’s show.
