The Woman Behind the Artist: The Many Lives of Erika Bourguignon

In conjunction with the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve’s current exhibition, Paul-Henri Bourguignon: Citizen of the World, the organization hosts an evening dedicated to the life of Bourguignon’s wife, Erika Bourguignon. Author and world traveler Irene Shaland will discuss Bourguignon’s life in two parts, her childhood in Vienna leading up to World War II, and her studies of “possession of trance” as a cultural anthropologist. The Woman Behind the Artist: The Many Lives of Erika Bourguignon takes place from 6:30 to 8 tonight. Admission is free, but AAWR requests registration through Eventbrite. (Usmani)
