Seasonal Special Happenings

Third Friday Open House

When: Fri., Dec. 18 2015

Just a week before Christmas, the 50+ galleries and artist studios of 78th Street Studios open their doors for the final Third Friday open house of 2015. December’s Third Friday includes a special solo exhibition of Ken Love’s Steampunk Lights at HEDGE Gallery (Suite 200). Love’s lighting and designs have been accenting HEDGE for months, but this exhibition includes a number of new, larger works. If you missed last month’s event, you’ll have another opportunity to view Darius Steward and of Clotilde Jiménez’s dynamic work at FORUM Artspace (Suite 103), Judith Brandon’s latest solo show at Kenneth Paul Lesko Gallery (Suite 212)and Michael Gill’s A Pocket Full of Change at Tregoning & Company (Suite 101). In the spirit of the holidays, you’ll have an additional chance to check out Billy Nainiger’s A Christmas Story-themed solo show at E11even 2 (Suite 112), a collection of classic holiday cards by local artists in ARTneo’s Season Greetings (Suite 016) and a sale of new cards by contemporary local artists, designers and illustrators at Popeye Gallery’s Inaugural Artist Holiday Card and Ornament Sale (Survival Kit, Suite 303). (Disclosure: I’m the co-director of Popeye Gallery). Free. (Usmani)
