Third Friday

When: Fri., Jan. 20 2017

78th Street Studios’ first Third Friday open house event of the year includes an exhibition of artwork created on skate decks by local artists. The board room includes more than 70 custom skate decks by 30 artists. E11even 2’s exhibition is sponsored in part by local nonprofit organization Graffiti HeArt. January’s Third Friday doesn’t stop there — the building’s numerous galleries and artist studios will be open with new or continuing exhibitions. Highlights include: David Joseph’s Morning Joe: Recent Photographs and Jamie Morse’s Light of Day, Light of Night at Tregoning & Company, an exhibition of watercolors from ARTneo’s permanent collection, Barbara Polster’s Cape Disappointment at Forum Artspace, Healing Through Art at Hedge Gallery, Joseph Karlovec’s Impulse Paintings at PopEye Gallery and much more. Third Friday takes place from 5 to 9 tonight. Can’t stop? Won’t stop? Don’t forget, Survival Kit presents free live music at 9 p.m. following Third Friday each month. This month’s performances include acoustic sets by Cassie Bishop, John Kalman, Charles Hill Jr. and Matt Rolin. Free. (Usmani)
