TOP PICK

Argo

(Warner Home Video)

Director Ben Affleck might have taken some liberties with the true story at the heart of this thriller about a group of Americans who pretend to be Canadian filmmakers in order to escape Iran during the hostage crisis.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds

Push the Sky Away

(New West)

Right from the opening notes of the album’s smoldering first tune, the pensive “We No Who U R,” it’s apparent this iconic Goth rocker has delivered another masterpiece. While the pace picks up a bit on tunes such as “Wide Lovely Eyes” and “We Real Cool,” this is a somber (and sobering) album of downbeat tunes that have a quiet intensity that’s something only Cave can pull off.
