Tuck and Patti

When: Fri., Feb. 8, 9 p.m. 2013

Given that it’s been a decade since the jazz/folk duo Tuck and Patti have played Cleveland, it’s no wonder Winchester owner Jim Mileti coaxed them out to play his Lakewood club’s ten-year anniversary. Veteran musicians who have played with numerous other bands, the husband and wife duo — singer-guitarist Tuck Andress and singer Patti Cathcart — first formed in 1981 and quickly adapted to performing as a twosome. “We had played in all sorts of different bands but when we got together as a duo, people would have thought that it would have been a narrowing experience stylistically but turned out to be the opposite,” says Andress. “When we got together, we could play music that came from anywhere and it would come out sounding like us.” The two generally perform a mix of covers and originals and they never make a set list, so it’s hard to predict what tracks they’ll play from their extensive repertoire.
