Ubu Roi

When: Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30-10 p.m. Continues through Nov. 15 2015

The Cleveland State University Theatre & Dance season opens with Alfred Jarry’s "UBU ROI." Directed by Dr. Michael Mauldin, it is set for Nov. 5-15 in The Helen Rosenfeld Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre (Allen Theatre Complex, Playhouse Square). One of the most excessive political caricatures, "Ubu Roi" ranks among the most original and powerful burlesques of all time and deals with the cruelty of despots and the stupidity of the human condition. The character Ubu Roi is actually based on a schoolteacher who taught Jarry, a French symbolist writer.

Price: $5-$10
