Walter Trout Tribute/Danny Bryant/Jon Trout/The Alan Greene Band

When: Thu., Aug. 14, 8:30 p.m. 2014

As blues guitarist Walter Trout recuperates from a recent liver transplant, his band is hitting the road in tribute. Fronted this summer by Trout protegé Danny Bryant, and Walter’s son, Jon Trout, on guitar, the band will throw down stunning blues music in the vein of their namesake. The organizers add: “During the tour, there will be cards at the merchandise booth with the background story of Trout’s transplant along with links to donor registration sites,” like donatelife.net. Trout is known for his extensive career with the Walter Trout Band (No More Fish Jokes is an essential pickup), as well as a fine stint in the 1980s with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Jon Trout, for his part, is growing under the guidance of Bryant, who himself flourished under the elder Trout. We’re all pulling for good health news from the Trout camp (an Aug. 4 update relays that Walter is now beginning to sound again “like Walter”); in the meantime, this touring outfit is a terrific way to honor his work. 8:30 p.m., $15.

Price: $15
