Wet Woman in the Wind

When: Fri., Feb. 16 2018

In the 1970s, Japan's Nikkatsu Studio sustained itself by releasing soft-core pornographic films. Now, to mark its 45th anniversary, the studio pays tribute to that tradition with five newly commissioned low-budget films. Wet Woman in the Wind, the first of them, centers on a Tokyo playwright who swears off romance and goes on a solitary retreat in the country, only to encounter a young woman who aims to seduce him. The film makes its local debut tonight at 10:50 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. It shows again at 10:10 tomorrow night. Tickets are $10, or $8 for Cinematheque members and students.
