World Inferno Friendship Society/O’Death/Wild Yaks

When: Mon., Nov. 26, 8:30 p.m. 2012

If you thought Slipknot and Arcade Fire had too many members in the band, maybe you haven’t heard of the World Inferno/Friendship Society, which, in total, contains over 30 members. The band’s music combines many different sounds and styles, such as punk, folk, jazz, even cabaret and klezmer. Their latest album, The Anarchy and the Ecstasy, is labeled punk, but if you’re expecting to hear something along the lines of Blink-182 or Bad Religion or Rancid, this album won’t satisfy your palate. The album is more eclectic than your typical punk release and sounds like it could be converted into a musical. If Green Day can get away with making a musical, then World Inferno/Friendship Society should be able to pull it off, too. (Sam Mendez)

Price: $12 ADV, $14 DOS
