Your Date With Kate

When: Thu., March 31 2011

What better way to wrap up Women's History Month than with a screening of the 1942 classic Woman of the Year, starring Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy? The romantic comedy not only won that year's Oscar for best original screenplay, but, with the character of accomplished journalist Tess Harding, helped establish the self-assured Hepburn as a role model for America's professional women. The film screens at 3 and 6 p.m. in the Murphy Auditorium at the Kent State University Museum (515 Hilltop Dr.). While you're there, be sure to check out the museum's exhibit, Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen, featuring a collection of the actress' costumes. The film is free with museum admission. For more information, visit.kent.edu/museum or call 330-672-3450. — Shanette Buford
