8/7: Mid-West Reggae Fest at Nelson Ledges

Now in its 18th year, the annual Mid-West Reggae Fest has expanded into a three-day affair at the spacious Nelson Ledges Quarry Park (12001 Nelson Ledge Rd., Garrettsville, 440.548.2716). Presented, as always, by reggae fanatic and chocolate maven Packy Malley, this year’s lineup includes veteran reggae artists like Beres Hammond, Freddie McGregor, the Wailing Souls and the Original Wailers. Regional acts like the Ark Band and Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band will also perform. Reggae historian Roger Steffens will be on hand too. All in all, 18 acts (nine from Jamaica) will play over the course of the weekend. Tickets are $95 for the weekend (including camping). — Jeff Niesel
