11/9: The Cult at HOB

by

Ian Astbury is back where he belongs. After an ill-advised move to the Doors, in which the British singer channeled Jim Morrison, the goth-rock hero is once again fronting the Cult — one of the more powerful and dramatic bands of the ’80s, delivering anthemic songs like “She Sells Sanctuary” and “Fire Woman.” Astbury has said the Cult may never release another studio album. That’s probably a smart move, since most fans wouldn’t care about the new tunes anyway. The band plays its 1985 album Love in its entirety at 8 p.m. at House of Blues (308 Euclid Ave., 216.523.2583). Tickets: $35-$49.50. — Ed Condran
