Since I’ve been on Facebook, I’ve been deluged with “friend” requests from people who know someone I know and from total strangers. While I personally prefer to have some kind of connection, however tenuous, to my Facebook friends, some people love to collect “friends.” Face2Face is a new social networking party designed to let you introduce yourself to those stranger/friends face to face. DJs Jack Da Rippa and Chicago will man a four-turntable rig, and Karlin “Arrogant” Warren — one of Face2 Face’s two principals — will host the event at Anatomy (1299 W. 9th St., 216.363.1113). It kicks off with a happy-hour meet-and-greet networking session from 8-10 p.m., followed by full-scale partying with those newly met and greeted friends from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Each guest will walk away with a free mixtape at the end of the night. “It’s going to be a quarterly event,” says Warren. “But it’s going to move around. We want to keep it fresh and have a different theme every time.” It’s free before 10 p.m., $10 after.
