12/10-13: Cleveland Crown Classic Dog Show

Dog lovers will be in heaven this weekend, when the Cleveland Crown Classic Dog Show moves in to the IX Center (1 IX Center Dr., 216.676.6000). Judging begins each day at 8 a.m. and continues to 5 p.m. But if you don’t care about all the fine points of conformation and just love dogs, there’s plenty else going on. There are “meet the breed” sessions from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, when you can learn about the qualities of some of the 165 breeds of dogs at the show directly from owners. There’s also a marketplace featuring 100 vendors selling dog supplies and gifts, agility and obedience events featuring eager-beaver dogs going through their paces, and rescue groups talking about you can provide a new home for a dog in need. Admission is $8 adults; $4 ages 4-11. — Anastasia Pantsios
