An artsy movie about disillusioned youth, Loren Cass has its local premiere tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Here's our review of the film.

Loren Cass (US, 2006) Since there’s nothing that resembles a narrative in Chris Fuller’s artistically shot movie, it’s hard to tell what the hell is going on. What we know is this: Fuller follows three disaffected St. Petersburg, Florida, teens as they roam the streets. One guy is a tattooed skinhead who drinks too much and is constantly getting into fistfights. The other is a car mechanic who doesn’t have any real goals or ambitions. And the third is a promiscuous waitress. At times, their lives intersect. But most of the time, they’re not doing much of anything. It’s not clear what we’re supposed to get out of the film, though Variety hailed its “original filmmaking talent.” If by “original” they mean incomprehensible, then they’re right. ** (Jeff Niesel)
