Chad Hanging in Cleveland

Lowe: No longer a Swank accessory.
C-list celebrity Chad Lowe comes to town on Saturday to give both of his Cleveland fans a sneak peek at his new movie, Beautiful Ohio. Dayton-born Lowe directed the coming-of-age film set in Shaker Heights. It co-stars William Hurt and Mrs. Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, neither of whom needs to come to Cleveland to promote a movie . . . yet. Lowe, best known as Rob Lowe's baby bro and Hilary Swank's soon-to-be-ex, was famously left out of Swank's I'd-like-to-thank-my-manicurist-and-my-dog-and-I-don't-think-I-forgot-anybody victory speech at the 2000 Oscars following her Best Actress win for Boys Don't Cry. While we're hoping for a scene in Lowe's movie that skewers the burger-lovin' Swank, we'll probably have to settle for the onscreen eye candy supplied by the now-legal Michelle Trachtenberg and hot 40-year-old Julianna Margulies. Lowe answers your questions following the Beautiful Ohio screening at the Cinematheque at 3:30 p.m. -- Michael Gallucci
