DeWine: His tab is now closed.
The national GOP has given up on Senator Mike DeWine (R-Hopeless). According to an article in today's New York Times, national Republicans decided to yank their ad dollars after internal polls showed DeWine trailing challenger Sherrod Brown. Says The Times: "The Republican National Committee and the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee have already spent $4.6 million on his race; party officials said they concluded that there were now simply more opportune races to focus on." -- Kevin Hoffman
