Once again, the World's Funniest Newspaper proves its greatness by stating the obvious. In a story headlined: "BCS Determines No Team Worthy of Facing Ohio State In Championship Game
," The Onion
explains that a Buckeye victory is so secure, there's no need to even play.
"No team in America deserves to even step on the same field as Ohio State, let alone actually play in a game against them," says BCS chairman Mike Coleman in the story.
We suspect there might be a hidden dig in all this, perhaps suggesting that Ohio State is such a media darling that its victory is preordained. But who cares? We're in The Onion
"The Fox network has announced that in place of the game on January 8, it will broadcast four hours of Buckeye players working out in preparation for the 2007 NFL draft," the paper reports.
