Beer and Bunny Food: They go together Laverne and Shirley or something

According to wine geeks, nothing goes particularly well with salad. Fortunately, suds fans are more forgiving, as indicated by the upcoming Brewmaster’s Dinner at Great Lakes Brewing Company. The August 14 event – which includes a five-course dinner and brewery tour -- is a meat-free marvel matching the brewery’s handcrafted beers with all sorts of tasty-sounding bunny foods. Among the match-ups: a salad of organic greens paired with Holy Moses White Ale; vegetable lasagna sided with Oktoberfest beer; and Ohio City Pasta with fresh veggies in garlic and olive oil, complemented by Elliot Ness Amber Lager. And for tomato fans, check out the tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella bruschetta, matched with Prohibition Pilsner. The dinner begins promptly at 6:45 p.m. and costs $50 per person. Reservation deadline is noon on Friday, August 10. Snag a seat by calling 216-771-4404, ext. 222. --- Elaine T. Cicora
