Free Music from Mick Boogie, Busta Rhymes, Young Chris, and Marvin Gaye

Christmas and Haunukkah are over, Kwanzaa is here, and Festivus is probably over, but Scene still has gifts for you. Or, more specifically, Mick Boogie has free music for you. Visit for two hot new mixes, all available as .zip downloads that unfold into mp3 files. Boogie, unofficial captain of the League Crew mixologist collective, goes in a new direction with "Brooklyn Soul." Boogie teamed with producers Shuko and the Gunna to make this mixtape of Jay-Z tracks reworked with Marvin Gaye samples. Boogie's other new Jay-Z-related mix is 'The Newprint," a tribute collaboration with Young Chris, with guest appearances by Pooda Brown. And if you haven't checked it out yet, download "Dillagence," a Boogie-assembled mix of new vocals by Busta Rhymes and unearthed beats by the late, great J-Dilla. The mix has received big ups from Entertainment Weekly to If you're in Cleveland, you can see Boogie spin live Thursday nights at Anatomy Nightclub and Ultralounge (1299 W. 9th St., the Warehouse District, 216-363-1113). -- D.X.
