Home to “phunky pizza and pasta,” Bricco (1438 Euclid Ave., 216-862-2889) is set to open on Playhouse Square on Monday, February 18. Akron restaurateur and wine guy David Glenny is the owner; veteran Cleveland GM David Kaminski (formerly of Delmonico’s, The Cabin Club, and Blue Point Grill) will oversee the front of the house; and executive chef Chris McCarthy will be running the kitchen. ... Settled inside the historic Hanna Building, the casually upscale eatery will offer lunch, dinner, and late-night service six days a week, with kitchen hours stretching all the way to midnight Monday through Thursday, and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. (Sunday ops are limited to dinner, 4 to 10 p.m.). Besides the “phunky” fare, the 200-seat restaurant will feature a full bar and an extensive, 130-bottle wine list, focused on West Coast and Italian wines. Of particular note to value-conscious grape heads, Sundays and Mondays have been pegged as “retail nights,” meaning that bottle prices will be marked down by about half.
