Kate Voegele Makes Entertainment Weekly's 10 To Watch List

katevoegle.jpg Bay Village native Kate Voegele has long been on our list of local talents to watch. Lately, she's been so busy, she's warranted her own regular update column. In January, the MySpace recording artist kicked off a multi-week run on CW drama One Tree Hill. She'll play a spotlight show at next week's South by Southwest music festival in Texas. Her latest blip on the broader pop-culture radar is a spotlight on Entertainment Weekly's EW.com website, on a "Female Singer-Songwriters: The New Wave" list. ... The entertainment journal ranked her with budding sensations like Marie Digby, that girl from the iPod commercial who isn't Feist, and seven other girls whose music appeared in Grey's Anatomy (or will soon). Voegele's first and current release, Don't Look Away, offers a little something for everyone: piano-based female-empowerment ballads, acoustic numbers, plus a few rocking cuts." -- D.X. Ferris
