FRIDAY MONKEY BLOGGING: TAKIN' WHAT THEY'RE GIBBON

by

Gibbon_PS_Photo.jpgWith Cleveland's weather slowly warming, a trio of monkeys have left their winter residence for their summer home at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Three Mueller's gibbons can now be seen daily swinging from tree to tree on an island at the center of the Zoo's Waterfowl Lake. If they're not swinging from branches or ropes, the mother and her two sons may be seen hiding out in their treehouse or in an elevated barrel. (Like the famous children's game "Barrel of Monkeys," gibbons have very long arms and actually use their hands as hooks.)
