What do you do if your church is being closed?

C) Lock yourself inside.

St. Emeric's has been in the news because it's the 50th Catholic church to be closed in Cleveland. There was a vigil last night by the loyal parishioners who were upset at the diocese for shuttering their church. They refused to leave. By this morning, there were still reportedly seven diehards in St. Emeric's, having locked the doors from the inside.

A news release says, "Bishop Lennon has grossly failed in his pastoral duties to these closed congregations."

A call placed by Fox 8 News seeking comment from the diocese has yet to be returned.

The Associated Press reports that church officials gathered downtown Thursday morning in front of St. Emeric's, where parishioners staged a midnight vigil in protest and have refused to leave the historic Hungarian church.
