The burden of saving these injury-prone people in this accident-happy area has fallen on a mail carrier, who has just happened to save three, yes three, lives in a span of just five years as he delivers mail around Nesmith Lake.
Ohio.com gives us the tale of Keith McVey, a firefighter turned mailman (how does that career switch happen?), who first had to save a man who, obviously tired of these damn Cleveland winters, jumped off of a bridge during a snowstorm about five years ago. Then, McVey had to dive into Nesmith Lake to pull out a girl who was drowning. This happened two years ago. Finally, just yesterday, McVey was once again delivering mail to the community when he heard yelling coming from a nearby parking lot. McVey found an unconscious man in the back of a pickup truck, complete with blue lips. McVey used his superpowers, CPR and chest compressions, to bring the man back to life. All these things happened while McVey was walking his route. And he didn't even get attacked by a dog once!
While McVey should be lauded for saving all three lives, what is going on in Nesmith Lake? Bridge jumping, drowning and ending up unconscious in the back of a pickup truck? Are the residents there just toying with the mailman now? "Hey, hang yourself from that tree, I'll bet you 20 bucks that mailman comes and saves you." I think bubble suits are in order for everyone there.
