York, the Madison man who ran a horrorshow out of his house, keeping his family trapped inside and abusing his children, pleaded guilty to two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of endangering children this week. He took the deal to avoid a rape conviction, so says the News-Herald. York could see as long as 15 years. The state says they want the max.

Update: New bond for Jeffrey York has been set at $2 million. Yeah, that makes more sense.

Update: Jeffrey York is behind bars and that's where he's staying for the foreseeable future.

Bond was initially set at $250,000. York came up with the $25,000 necessary to get out.

A judge decided that was probably a bad idea.

He's been charged with two counts of rape, five counts of gross sexual imposition, six counts of endangering children, and more all because police believe he terrorized his family — wife and seven kids — for over ten years. Raping one of his daughters, keeping his family locked down in the house, and generally acting like a heinous human being. Original story below.

Some humble abodes just scream survivalist cult or backwoods Deliverance-style horror show, and that’s exactly what was behind the crumbled décor of this Madison Township residence, where Jeffrey York kept his family as hostages in their own home. According to the News Herald, the 47-year-old father of seven raped and abused his family for ten years before his wife finally contacted authorities.

Get ready to go all eww again.

According to authorities, York cut his family off from all contact with the outside world, rarely allowing them to leave the house or visit neighbors and friends. The children — ranging in age from 3 months to 19-years-old — were homeschooled and forced to wear Amish-style duds; whenever York needed to go elsewhere, he’d take along one of his kids as collateral.

One daughter was reportedly kept in a closet space for an entire year. She was allowed to leave to go to the bathroom only. Another 13-year-old was repeatedly raped by York. The younger children have no signs of sexual abuse.

York has been charged with “two counts of rape, five counts of gross sexual imposition, six counts of endangering children, five counts of domestic violence and one count of aggravated menacing,” the paper reports.
