The wheels of justice aren’t exactly a-whirl with due process for Jimmy Dimora. Just squeezing such a massive bulk of greed and malfeasance through the court system is going to take months of time, preparation, and proper lubrication. And as we’ve learned today, it’ll be fall 2011 before the Big Man gets his day in court.
On September 12, 2011, a day after the country mourns the ten year anniversary of 9/11, Dimora and five other defendants will go on trial before Federal Judge Kate O’Malley, according to WKYC.
There are an estimated 100,000 documents and 1,000 hours of taped phone conversations for defense lawyers to review.
The normal speedy trial date would have brought the case to court on November 24 of this year. But both federal prosecutors and defense lawyers argued it would take significantly more time to prepare for the case.
