19ActionNews has a scoop about an attack at the Westbridge School, a part of the local Positive Education Program for troubled kids. The school is just west of Tremont.

According to the report, a nine-year-old student flipped his shit on Thursday and went after a teacher — twice. The first time little Johnny Doe tried at teach with a pair of scissors. Deferred, he then rounded back with a pen and stabbed his victim nine times.

Police were called to the scene. No word yet on the teacher’s condition or whether or not the student has been booted from the school. Charges are pending, as the station talked with a juvenile prosecutor for the story.

The school issued the following statement:

"In rare instances when a child attempts to do harm to himself or others, PEP's highly-trained staff members follow PEP's clearly defined protocols to assure the safety of each child and staff member. The safety and well-being of our children and staff members is always our highest priority. "
