Update: Two bits of information surfaced today regarding the trooper's arrest. First: Cops originally approached Fantone in the stands because he was throwing peanuts at them.

Second: A great quote from the perp — ""I'm in handcuffs for throwing peanuts? Those guys are mad at me because I DUI'd some of their guys."

Sometimes those fine security guards and Cleveland policemen aren't simply dealing with the drunk and disorderly among the general population at Browns games.

Sometimes it's one of their own they have to wrangle.

WYTV reports:

The Ohio State Patrol confirmed that Trooper Jason Fantone of the Canfield Post was arrested at Cleveland Browns stadium. He was arraigned Monday morning in Cleveland Municipal Court.

Police say Fantone will face charges of drunken disorderly conduct and criminal damaging. Fantone is scheduled off work until Wednesday.
