We're not sure how we missed this fantastic little nugget over the Christmas break, but here it is now.

Ozzy Osbourne and his music have long been a scapegoat for deviant behavior, but never before has the Prince of Darkness been blamed for a DUI.

On Christmas eve 33-year-old William Liston was arrested for your run-of-the-mill DUI. Ho-hum, right?

Not so fast. See, he had an excuse for the officers. A good one, too!

According to the AP:

Fox station WJW-TV says he told police officers, "Ozzy Osbourne and his music made me do it."

Liston is awaiting arraignment. He's due in court Tuesday on a charge of operating a vehicle while impaired.

In an unrelated case, Liston pleaded not guilty Thursday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in a November break-in at a medical office. He was released on bond in that case.

No word on if Liston blamed the break-in on Metallica.
