Cinematheque director John Ewing was recently named a knight in the Order of Arts of Letters of the Republic of France for the cultural work he's done over the years.
He received his award on February 3 with a special ceremony at the Cinematheque.
One of his colleagues, Dave Shaw of the Cleveland Museum of Art's media department, made an old-fashioned newsreel tribute to Sir John.
