Unsettling wake-ups are never fun. No one wants to have that sweaty beach dream interrupted by gunshots, fire alarms, or the repo man carting off your 1998 Saturn. You can top that list with finding a bleeding, naked woman screaming bloody murder at the door step. That was the pre-dawn scene Tuesday at housing complex in Brimfield, a little pinprick of a town in Portage County. Unfortunately, the situation proved to be more troubling than someone forgetting the safety word.

At 5 a.m. residents were awoken by an unidentified woman looking for help, according to Fox 8. The blood was coursing from injuries on her throat, chest, arms, hands and wrists. When police arrived to help, they arrested Allen Kouns, a 31-year-old Cleveland resident.

Police report that Kouns allegedly stabbed the woman and didn’t let her get away for medical care. He’s been charged with kidnapping, disruption of public service, and felonious assault.
