Cleveland Museum of Art Collecting Wedding Photos

The landscapes around the Cleveland Museum of Art and Wade Lagoon have long been a favorite spot for wedding-day photos. At the very least, it's a better option than in front of the Best Steak & Gyro on Superior.

Anyway, Mark Schwartz, of visual communications firm Nesnadny + Schwartz and member of the museum's board of trustees, had an idea: invite everyone who took wedding photos on the grounds to submit the shots to the museum, who would then archive and collect them. The result so far: over 170 pics ranging four decades.

"The real key will be 10 years down the road, when we'll have this incredible archive," he said. "In a way, it's a history of Cleveland fashion — the good, the bad and the ugly — and it's this great visual timeline."
