Fanboys have been geeking out over the new Green Lantern movie for about a year now. For the next few days, everyone else will have to deal with it too.
Leading up to the movie's opening next Friday, a handful of cities around the country, including Cleveland, will be blasting the superhero's symbol onto a famous secret local location. (If you have to ask what the symbol is, then you must have a life.)
Clues have already started to surface that will lead to the secret location of the symbol, which will be projected from 9 to 10 p.m. on Monday.
Once all the geeky people are gathered at the secret spot, a spaceship will come down and take them away. We kid. Actually, some folks will be there handing out swag, including T-shirts, Green Lantern rings, copies of a new animated Blu-ray, and screening passes for the live-action movie that opens next week.
Clues have already started going out on KISS FM's Facebook and Twitter. (We're assuming they're giving clues on air too, but we haven't listened to the radio since 1998, so we're not sure.) One hint a day will be unveiled until the big geek fest on Monday.
Our favorite part of this comes from the press release: "The first 25 Green Lantern fans to find The Corps at 9 p.m. and recite the Green Lantern Oath, which will be added to the Infinite Oath app on the movie website, will win Green Lantern prize-packs."
So be sure to memorize that oath between your busy dating schedule this weekend. —Michael Gallucci
