Alright, take your pick: Bath salt? Four Loko? K2? No, we’re not opening up the private stash. The media wheels are well-grooved with the above buzz words, and when some unexplainable piece of human behavior crops up, we’d be remiss if we didn’t truck them out for old times sake. So what do you think we have here, a bath salt binger? K2 head? Or just some regular unbuzzy stripe of insanity?
Really, this incident is strange and sad. It happened on last Friday on a Chicago to Frankfurt overseas United Airlines flight. According to 19ActionNews, two hours into the trek the plane had to turn around and make an unexpected stop in Cleveland to drop off a passenger mid-wig out.
Shortly after takeoff, the crew noticed an individual had locked himself in the bathroom for 30 minutes. He refused to leave. When finally the guy was pursued to exit the stall, he started making an alleged ruckus. Other passengers tried to subdue the guy, and eventually he was bound and gagged with duct tape. And yes, of course someone did the classy thing and snapped a photo, which you’re looking at.
For those out there who don’t have much of a sense of humor when it comes to airline security, we admit that there’s no indication bath salts or any other substance were involved. However, as experts in the field of weird shit in the news, we’re making an educated guess. Bath salts, or the poor guy was jammed between a noisy baby and a double-wide flyer. Chicago to Frankfurt in those circumstances might induce a wig-out in any of us.
