The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 16th annual American Music Masters series starts on October 31 and runs through November 5. This year, it's paying tribute to Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin with a week's worth of events, including workshops, performances, and Q&A sessions.
You can find the whole schedule here.
The whole thing culminates in a big blowout on Saturday, November 5, at the State Theatre. Dennis Edwards, Ronald Isley, and Spooner Oldham will all be there.
So will Chaka, Chaka, Chaka, Chaka Khan. Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan. Chaka Khan, let me rock you. Let me rock you, Chaka Khan.
Lauryn Hill, who now goes by the name Ms. Lauryn Hill (no shit), is also supposed to be there. But seeing that Hill has problems showing up to things and then making much sense once she does show up, this could go either way. Our fingers are crossed. —Michael Gallucci
