Today is very important—we have exactly 365 more days to go before the end of the world. The world was supposed to end May 21 of this year, and again on October 21. But it didn't happen, which sucked for people who gave up their jobs and all their worldly goods in preparation.
But according to the ancient Maya, whose calendar stops on December 21, 2012, we will definitely be done for one year from today. ABC has a nice write-up on the history of doomsday predictions here.
And, if you are one to buy into the Mayan theory, we have good news—Cleveland is one of the best places to be for it!
