Our first reaction on learning the Save the Plain Dealer campaign has a folk song championing the cause: “Oh great, it's four minutes long.”
And those are some four minutes. “Ink on Paper” doesn't leave a lot to the imagination. It lists all the reason Alex Bevan needs his Plain Dealer, and subtly hints how bereft life would be without the daily fishwrapper. As good of a cause the campaign might be, “Blowin' in the Wind,” this ain't. But that's cool. About as much effort went into this song as serious thought goes into a Regina Brett column, so go figure.
