Well they've run out of rum at Portside Distillery, for the moment. Maybe it was the huge holiday demand or the excitement of opening the first distillery in Cleveland since Prohibition or maybe their batches just need to get bigger to keep up with demand. Either way, it's a problem that I'm sure they're glad to have.
No worries, if you haven't gotten your stash, they're already back at it this week making more and hoping to be able to sell more as soon as next week.
The distillery borders the East Bank of the Flats and the Historic Warehouse District, 1100 West 9th St., Cleveland. For now they plan to keep distilling enough silver rum to have it available in area stores. The next step is to start brewing beer and by May to have a restaurant open. It’s always a good idea to have some food if you’re going to be drinking. We wish them well!
