Freekbass announces Bootsy Collins will produce his next album

Cincinnati bassist extraordinaire Freekbass has performed in Cleveland ever since his career began and always had a loyal following here. He’s just announced that his next project will be overseen by another great bassist, Parliament’s Bootsy Collins, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. “The album is being engineered and produced by Duane Lundy who was recently worked with artists such as My Morning Jacket and Ben Sollee,” says Freekbass. “We will be recording it both at Duane's Studio Shagri-La in Lexington and at Bootsy's Bootzilla Rehab Studio in Cincinnati. We are in pre-production right now , with things ramping up in the fall.” Freekbass says he plans to play Cleveland again in the fall with the Kelly Richey Band. “Once my album is complete, I will be going back out to support it with the Freekbass band and plan on Cleveland being one of the first stops,” he says. “Even though home bass for me is a few miles south down the road, Cleveland always feels like a home market. And it's all in the funky state of Ohio.”
