In 2012, the Canton-based indie pop band Hey Monea! won the international Hard Rock Rising Global Battle of the Bands Competition. Now, the band has just released its new album, Cheap Souvenirs, a collection of catchy tunes that it recorded with big-time producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Ra Ra Riot). The guys came by the office yesterday to play a few songs from the album. They host a CD release party tonight at Musica in Akron.
