City Sets Community Meeting For Fate of West 117th/Clifton Corner and Vacant Church Property

  • A proposal for turning the property at West 117th Street and Clifton Boulevard into park space has been presented.
The northeast corner of West 117th and Clifton in Cleveland is mostly empty now, save for the totally empty church building still standing there. And with development on the horizon, neighbors have been scrambling to push ideas that would actually net a positive impact for the community.

A meeting with the public will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 6 at Louisa May Alcott Elementary School, 10308 Baltic Road.

The city will present plans along with Carnegie Corps., which has proposed construction of the "Shoppes on Clifton." There will also be discussion about the city-owned Fifth Church of Christ Scientist, which remains standing
