An Ohio man took his marriage proposal to a whole new and festive level when he popped the question to his girlfriend with carved pumpkins.

Dayton's Zach Stoddard carved the words "Will You Marry Me?" into five pumpkins, strategically placed on a hillside at the annual Stoddard Avenue Pumpkin Glow. Much to the delight of hundreds of Pumpkin Glow attendees, Stoddard's girlfriend of three years, Lauren Brennenman, said yes immediately.

Event organizers told The Dayton Daily News that the proposal was a first for the annual event, which features hundreds of glowing jack-o-lanterns.

Stoddard said he wanted to pop the question in this clever way because October is his girlfriend's favorite month and because it seemed appropriate to ask Brenneman if she wanted to become a Stoddard at an event by the same name.
