Last night was the beginning of a unique event not often seen in Cleveland.

Great Lakes Fashion Week kicked off with an accessory show and after party at Rumor on West 6th. Models sauntered down the catwalk wearing clothing and accessories made by four local designers.

Tashawna Jackson’s magnificent scarves were artfully draped around necks and Jenny DiNuoscio’s whimsical designs decorated model’s hair. Mark Mathews showcased his eccentric taste in fabric in his tasteful bowties while Robin Davis’ creative baubles were displayed around wrists and on necks.

The night created an experience most often found in New York City, but proved that Cleveland can do fashion too. Great Lakes Fashion Week continues with a larger show tonight at the Hilton Garden Inn.
