Update: You Could Spend Christmas in Cleveland's Own "A Christmas Story" House




Folks, the bidding's hot on the online auction for a two-night Christmas stay in Cleveland's own A Christmas Story House.

So far, 29 offers have been made, ranging from $1.03 to $3051.69, and the bids will likely continue to rise.

"It has ranged between $3,000 and $5,000 in the past," Steve Siedlecki, A Christmas Story's executive director said of the going price in previous years. Currently there are about 5 or 6 different people who keep the bidding going, he said.

We triple dog dare you to join the fun and make your bid for a two-night stay in the original A Christmas Story house over the holidays (plus a one night stay at Cleveland's Renaissance Hotel). This year's auction begins today.

From Dec. 23 - 26, you and three guests can re-enact your favorite movie moments, such as checking the mail for Decoder pins, opening presents in Ralphie's living room, and starting a full-on Christmas Day BB-gun fight.

Here's the full calendar of events for this year's winner:

December 23:

TBD: Arrive Cleveland, Ohio
4pm: Check into The Cleveland Renaissance Hotel
5pm: Visit historic Higbee window (right next to Renaissance Hotel)
NOTE: Hotel night can be used any time during a one year period if auction winner chooses not to use it during this visit.

December 24:

10am: Personal behind-the-scenes tour of A Christmas Story House & Museum
12pm: Check into A Christmas Story House
Large FRA-GI-LE Major Award crate delivered to the front door of the house (yours to keep). Crow bar provided to open.
Go out to check the mail for Decoder pins delivered to mailbox (one for each guest and yours to keep)
Climb under the sink just like Randy
7pm: A Christmas Story House to watch A Christmas Story in the house it was filmed (25th Anniversary DVD is yours to keep; popcorn and sodas provided)
9pm: Spend the night in A Christmas Story House sleeping in Ralphie and Randy’s bedroom!

December 25:

8am: Open presents in A Christmas Story House living room
Continental breakfast basket provided by A Christmas Story House
Presents included: 2 BB guns (behind the desk), a bunny suit, 4 A Christmas Story House shirts.
Bring your own presents to unwrap as well
Shoot BB guns in the back yard. But, “Don’t Shoot Your Eye Out!!!”
7pm: Watch A Christmas Story Documentaries and play A Christmas Story Monopoly and A Christmas Story The Party Game in the house the movie was filmed.
9pm: Spend the night in A Christmas Story House sleeping in Ralphie and Randy’s bedroom!

December 26:

By 10am, pack up your prized “Major Award” and check out of A Christmas Story House. Have a very Merry and Memorable Christmas.

All proceeds from this year's auction go to A Christmas Story House Neighborhood Restoration Project.
