As we count down the days until IngenuityFest (full preview out tomorrow in print and online), we can’t help but anticipate the weekend’s new and returning acts. IngenuityFest turns 10 this year, and they've brought in more acts and showcases than ever, some new, some returning.
One of the most popular, as evidenced by last year's crowds, will be Voix de Ville, which is coming back again. The “Voice of the City” is a performance festival within the festival. Last year, Voix de Ville founders, Pinch and Squeal (Jason and Danielle Tilk), launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to create a mini mobile circus tent to house a number of neo-vaudeville-type performances. The result absolutely stole the show, with long lines for most performances. You’ll want to get in line early again this year; each performance only holds 60 people.
While the Voix de Ville will feature a number of individual performances throughout the weekend, this year’s festivities will include four major performances of the BOFFO! Show – an hour-long production featuring an eclectic variety of professional performers from Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Philadelphia. Performers include the one-and-only Satori Circus, “The Worlds Laziest Strongman” Titano Oddfellow, world-class juggler Will Oltman, international magician Mark Zust and more.
Performances of the BOFFO! Show take place Friday (9/26) at 8 p.m., Saturday (9/27) at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Afternoon shows are all ages, but evening performances are 18+. These performances are guaranteed to sell out. Limited advance tickets are available online now
