Hang out with some woollies this weekend.
Dick Goddard's 42nd annual Woollybear Festival sweeps through Vermilion on Sunday providing hundreds of thousands of locals with their yearly dose of woollybear fun.
Essentially a Groundhog Day on steroids, Woollybear Fest is northeast Ohio's annual opportunity to poke and prod a bunch of furry little caterpillars in hopes of predicting the severity of the forthcoming winter.
Kick off your day with the Woollybear Caterpillar Race which commences promptly at 10 a.m. and stick around for the Wollybear Parade (one of northeast Ohio's largest), which launches from Grand Street at 1:30 p.m. and includes more than a dozen marching bands, old fashioned cars, floats, beauty queens, and adorable kids on hay wagons.
Believe it or not, all of the festivities are free. For a full schedule of events, head over to Fox 8.
